To comply with the Data Protection Act 2018, we will ensure that there is a high level of care taken when handling personal data; governing when and how information relating to individuals is obtained, held, used and disclosed.

In the course of our operations we may hold the following personal information for our staff, clients and associates: full name, age, sex, personal contact numbers, email addresses, date of birth, next of kin, emergency contacts, qualifications, memberships, medical information, bank/building society account details, ethnic origin, disability, health issues, personal photos, payment details, contract terms and conditions, feedback on performance, references, interview notes.

 

 

Collection of Data

 

Delegates who attend training courses and workshops delivered by Gateway Commercial will be expected to provide minimal levels of personal information in order for us to effectively manage the training records required under our management system. On these instances the typical personal information that may be held includes: full name, national insurance number, address, personal contact numbers, email addresses, date of birth, qualifications, personal photos, payment details, feedback on performance, assessments, observations and test/examination results. We will obtain consent to hold such information from all delegates attending our training events. Failure to provide consent may result in the individual withdrawal from the training..

 

We may receive personal information about you from third party sources (such as your employer or other third party if they enrol you on a course or create an account on your behalf), or agencies if you apply for study or employment, but only where we believe that these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your personal information to us. We collect only the minimum amount of information required from these third parties to enable us to provide the requested service or process any application you send to us (for example, your educational or employment history). We only use the information we receive from these third parties as set out in this Privacy Notice.

We collect personal information from you:

• through the use of forms, which may be on paper, electronic or on our website, such as when you login to access our services, receive joining instructions, signup to receive our newsletters, register for information, make a purchase or commence a course of study;
• when you create an account on our website or provide details to join a training course and provide us with information about any special requirements, such as dietary requirements, that you may have; and
• if you choose to provide us with information when you use any of our website or access our Services;
• when you communicate with us for any reason, including by email, postal mail or telephone, and when you use our Services.
• We may also process your data in relation to COVID-19 or within other crisis management activities.

Some of the personal information that you provide may include sensitive personal information, such as health-related information to ensure that we can provide the necessary duty of care or information about your race or ethnicity, which we need for statutory registration/reporting purposes. Health information may also be required to process reasonable adjustments within examinations.

In general, we will use any of the information we collect from you only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice or for purposes that we explain to you at the time we collect such information. However, we may also use your personal information for other purposes that are not incompatible with the purposes we have disclosed to you (such as statistical purposes) if and where this is permitted by applicable data protection laws.

When visitors enter the website, leave comments or submit a message form on the site we collect the data shown in the comments and/or form, and also the visitor’s IP address, device type, broad location, browser user agent string, other technical data and the way you interacted with our website including links accessed.

 

This helps with spam detection and helps us to understand why a visitor came to the website and to improve our service.

We are committed to keep our staff and associates informed of how their personal data is processed. Under the Data Protection Act our people will have the right to access their personal data; with a notice period of 30 days and administration fee of £20.00. A written requested to review, correct or amend records must be received in order for this to be addressed.
